"The monster within me was getting stronger, and while I could not save myself I could save others." - Note found in suitcase of Houston airport shooter Carnell Marcus Moore, CNN reports. Police announced in a press conference this morning that Moore went to the airport with the intention of committing suicide, and they do not believe he wanted to harm others. Moore fired two shots into the ceiling of the departure area of Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport yesterday afternoon. He shot himself in the temple after being confronted by a police officer, who fired at Moore and hit his shoulder.
    News to know
A wildfire that started yesterday in the Camarillo area of California, near Los Angeles, is only about 10 percent contained, according to the Associated Press. Fifteen homes have already been damaged and 2,000 more are in danger. The area has been evacuated as more than 900 firefighters and deputies attempt to control the blaze. With very low humidity, temperatures in the 90s and gusts of wind that could reach up to 45 mph, officials say there is still a chance the fire could jump and spread quickly. Firefighters expect to have an easier time containing the fire when the weather pattern breaks today.
