The Bluestem Lions travelled to Medicine Lodge and split a two-game series.
In game one the Lions lost 5-1, Cody Easterday took the lass going six innings, stiking out six allowin two hits and only one earned run.
“Eight errors was the story of this game. Too many extra opportunities for them,” said Bluestem coach Mark Womacks.
Cooper Minnick and Easterday were both 2-3 at the plate.
John Stiger got the win in a rain-shortened second game going 4 innings with six strikeouts allowing 3 hits and one walk to win 3-2.
Bluestem travelled to Douglass on Thurday and won 9-2 and 17-5.
Stiger got the complete game win in game one with 8 strikeouts, 2 walks, 4 hits and one earned run.
Minnick was 3-4 with 2 runs and a rbi. Easterday went 2-4 with 2 runs and a rbi. Dakota Bullard was 2-4 with a run and 3 rbis. Lane Moran went 2-3 with a rbi.
Josh Muckenthaler was 2-5 with a run and rbi.
“Tonight was the team we believed we could be. We didn't panic when we got behind. We had great focus at the plate. Our defense was good,” said Womacks.
Easterday got the win in the second game with 6 strike outs, one walk, 4 hits and 2 earned runs.
Easterday also went 4-4 with 4 runs and 4 rbis. Moran was 2-4 with 3 runs and 4 rbis. Judd Simon went 4-5 with 4 rbis and Jacob Warren was 2-4 with a rbi.
“We had great offensive production, best we have had this year,” said Womacks.
Bluestem is now 9-5. They travel to Wichita Trinity on Monday at 3 p.m.
