  • Kelly J. Williams, 50, (the biggest Shocker Fan ever) passed away on April 26, 2013. He was a self-employed carpenter and owner of Kelly's Konstruction in Augusta Kansas. He was born in Wichita, Kansas on January 4, 1963, the son of Carl Clayton and Mary Louise (Vogt) Williams. Kelly was predeceased by his father. He is survived by his best friend and wife, Lisa (Bodyk) Williams. Also surviving are his mother and all of his siblings: Doug Williams (Becky); Sheila Escobedo (Pablo); Clay Williams (Debbie); Brenda Hoge (Bernie); Aunts, Uncles and In-laws. Kelly is also survived by many nieces and nephews that he loved so much. He was also Godfather to Lane Helmer, Journey Bodyk, Jordan Bodyk and Andrei Bodyk.
    Kelly married, Lisa, his high school sweetheart on September 26, 1987. Kelly and Lisa loved to travel and made trips all over the country and the world. Recently they went on an amazing trip to Alaska with his sister and brother-in-law for the second time.
    Kelly was best friend to everyone and greatest uncle to all kids he ever knew. He never tired of spending time with his family and friends and giving a helping hand to all. He was an avid sports fan and his favorite teams included the Wichita State Shockers, Kansas City Chiefs, Colorado Avalanche, the Wichita Thunder and Kansas Jayhawks. He recently attended the Final Four in Atlanta to support his Shockers with his brother-in -law and friends and also travelled to Boston with his other brother-in-law and godson to attend a Boston Celtics Game.
    He was a wonderful carpenter and was so proud of his home he built with the help of one of his best friends. He had many best friends and had a nickname for every one of them.
    Services will be held, Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church 1501 N. State St., Augusta. Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kelly's memory to Lifeline Animal Placement Protection, Inc. (LAPP), 310 West 45th Street North Wichita, Kansas 67204 or to a charity of your choice.
