Bluestem's baseball team committed an uncharacteristic eight errors in the first game of Monday's doubleheader at Medicine Lodge. The Lions lost that game 5-1.

Cody Easterday threw six strikeouts and allowed just two hits with no walks through six innings. He only gave up one earned run in the loss.

Cooper Minnick and Easterday were 2-for-3. Brendan Turner, Dakota Bullard and John Stiger all had a base hit. Stiger score the Lions' lone run.

Medicine Lodge returned the favor in Game 2 with seven errors to the Lions' three as Bluestem managed a split with a 3-2 win. The Lions scored two in the second and one in the third. Medicine Lodge score both of its runs in the third.

Minnick was 2-for-2. Easterday, Stiger and Lane Moran all had a base hit in Game 2 for the Lions.

Stiger threw four innings and had six strikeouts with one walk, three hits and no earned runs.

Game 2 was called short after five innings due to rain.

The Lions are 7-5 and play at Douglass Thursday.
