  • On May 4, Partners In Education (PIE), along with Dairyland Donkeyball, is bringing donkeys to town for donkey basketball games.
    They will begin at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. They will have teachers riding against students (16+) and also people from the community riding. If you have never been to a donkey basketball game – you are in for a real treat! It is fun for the whole family– and they will also have free donkey rides for the first 125 kids 12 and under. Everyone is invited to come and cheer for their teachers, principals and friends.
    Riding donkeys for the USD 490 team will be Kimberly Barb, McKenzie McClure, Megan Eldridge, Lisa Lechtenberg, Steve Fellers, Russell Baker, Linda Johnson, Amie Oltman, Amber Olson, Caleb Carson (firefighter) and Shane McCoy (firefighter).
    On the student team from El Dorado High School will be Timothy Fry, Breck Towner, Morgan Limon, Garrett Howland, Isaac Ramsey, Dakota Wilson, Jeff Jones, Ryan Foster, Scott Johnstone,Alex Bisbing, Kailey Clites and Kurtis Anderson (alternate).
    Riding for the community teams are: Community 1 – Mark Hart (PIE Vice President), Kendra Porter, Russ McCaig, Ben Coffey, Bill Oats, Cindy Koehler (PIE President), Matt Wolf, Billy Gomez, Lonnie Owens and Craig Webb, and on Community team 2 – Leon Leachman, Cyndi Reid, Dan Flowers, Staci Rickard (PIE board), Reggie Graham, Zac Sundgren, Mike Traylor, Sheriff Kelly Herzet, Marcus Deaver and Jeremy Sheffler.
    Tickets are $6 in advance or $8 at the door.
    The high school DECA Club will be serving a hot dog supper (including drink and dessert) for $4 in advance, $5 at the door and an ice cream sundae bar for $3 before the games from 5:30 to 6:30.

    The EHS Drumline will perform before the games and there will be a silent auction of student artwork as well as homemade cakes supplied by Sue Givens and her administrative team.
    In addition, they are honoring the dedicated military during the game. Their special guests will be Craig Webb, U.S. Air Force, and Jeremy Sheffler, Air National Guard. Both have daughters attending Grandview Elementary.
