The Wildcats had their best outing of the season at Chanute on Friday.

“We scored 16 points and tied for second out of eight teams. As a coach, this was a very satisfying team performance to watch,” said El Dorado coach Kent Kunkel.

Senior Cole Reinhardt took third going 2-1 on the day.

“Reinhardt’s performance at #1 singles was nothing less than what I expect from him. Even his 2nd round loss was a bright spot. He was down 7-1 then came back to win 5 straight before falling 8-6. He followed it up with a dominating performance against a tough Chanute opponent 8-2,” said Kunkel.

Lee Harter went 2-1 in his matches and took second overall.

“Lee Harter has regained his steady form and placed 2 nd,” said Kunkel.

In Doubles, Chase Barrett and Logan Troxell took 4th place.

“Barrett and Troxell, our normal #2 doubles, went toe to toe in #1 doubles and played each team very well. They can play anyone tough but need to find that extra focus to finish out games instead of letting other teams back in,” said Kunkel

The team of Jos LaForge and Devin Wyman placed 7th overall.

“Laforge and Wyman got some good varsity doubles experience and came out with a victory in the last match. They have to understand that each match, whether it’s a victory or loss, is a building block for the future,” said Kunkel.
