Herman M. Lovett, 87, of Florence, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in Wichita. He was born July 9, 1925 in Leech, Okla., the son of Monroe and Bessie Hoopengarner Lovett.
Herman was a Navy veteran serving in WWII. He had worked for Boeing in Wichita, had been a road maintenance in Oklahoma, and worked for the city of Florence for nine years.
He is survived by: wife, Vernal of Florence; step-son, “Bill” William Rodden of Denver, Colo.; sons, Edsel of Augusta and Herman Jr. of Lawrence; a daughter, Linda Kay Bean of Houston, Texas; a brother, Joe of Sacramento, Calif.; three sisters, Faye Rader of Tulsa, Okla., Bessie Cooley of Sacramento, Calif., and Dollie Lou Rapp of Tulsa, Okla.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Zeiner Funeral Home in Florence. Interment will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery with Military Rites.
There will be a visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established with the American Legion Post at Florence.
