The Wildcats golf team were able to get a round in and placed second overall as a team with a score of 345 Thursday at Augusta Country Club.
“I was pleased with our performance, we still have a lot of work ahead of us to reach our team goals but it was a step in the right direction,” said El Dorado coach Pete Cisneros.
El Dorado’s Travis House had the low round for the Wildcats and placed 4th overall with an 80 and Wes Haines got in the medals placing 8th overall with an 85.
“I was most pleased with Wes's performance. He has worked hard on improving his game and the results are showing this is his second tournament in the mid 80s,” said Cisneros.
Jared Haury shot an 87, Connor Scanlon came in with a 93, Tanner Clites finished at 94 and Isaac Johnson had a 102.
“The team was pleased but not satisfied they are all ready to keep working hard and improving,” said Cisneros.
El Dorado will compete at Fox Ridge Thurday at Remington’s Invitational.
Also competing at Augusta was the Circle Thunderbirds golf team.
Circle placed 7th overall as team with a combined score of 379 on the day.
Thunderbirds senior Dominic Lara led Circle with a low round of 77 and finished third overall in the field off from first place by just a stroke.
Trevor Schwemer came in with a 94, Colton Berk finished at 103, Colton Carvel shot a 105 and Jesse Andrews had a 106.
