It looked as if the Wildcats were going to break out of their season opening losing streak but the Bullpups spoiled that thought in their last at bats of the first game and the momentum carried into the second game as McPherson went on to sweep the Wildcats.
The Wildcats lost the first game 6-5 and the second game 5-3 to fall to 0-6 to start this season.
El Dorado took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning with two runs and were three outs away from their first victory of the season.
McPherson scored two runs off of Aaron Riffel in the top of the seventh and the Wildcats could not match in the bottom half of the inning and were beaten.
El Dorado shortstop Trevor Crain was 3-3 from the plate with two doubles, a rbi and a run scored . Kyle Macy was 2-4 with 2 rbi's and a stolen base. Tyson Jones was 2-4 with a triple, a rbi and a run scored. Quinton Morgan was 2-3 and Gage Armstrong was 1-4 with a rbi.
Starter Easton Smith went 4 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 earned runs while only walking one. Macy went 1.2 innings with three strike outs. Riffel took the loss in the blown save.
El Dorado outhit McPherson in the first game 14 to 11.
The Wildcats could not take advantage of a solid pitching performance from starter Quinton Morgan who went 6.2 innings allowing 8 hits and only two earned runs while striking out 4 and walking 3 Bullpups.
Crain had another solid game at the plate going 2-4 with two more doubles and a rbi. Morgan went 1-3 at the plate with a walk and two runs scored. Jones was 1-3 with a double and a rbi. Armstong was 1-4 with a rbi and Macy was 0-1 with three walks and a stolen base.
Again the Bullpups scored in their final at bat to snatch victory away from the Wildcats with two runs in the top of the seventh.
El Dorado was outhit 9-7 by McPherson in the second game. The Wildcats had two errors in the game.
El Dorado will be back at McDonald Stadium today as they host Winfield with game one beginning at 4 p.m.
