Marlin Clark, 85, of Augusta, died Friday, April 5, 2013 at Life Care in Andover. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, also at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado.
Marlin was born on Jan. 27, 1928 in Pittsburg, the son of Lloyd B. and Hilda Hazel (Crapson) Clark. He graduated from Potwin High School and received his Pharmacist Degree from Kansas University. He served in the United State Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict and was a corpsman in the Navy. He worked with his father at Clark Drug Store in El Dorado and in 1953 to 1999 at the drug store in Augusta. He was married to Shirley Boone in a ceremony at the First Christian Church in El Dorado on Aug. 5, 1956. He enjoyed sports, especially Kansas University sports; he was a religious person; and loved to tell stories, jokes, sing and dance. Marlin was very proud of his family and loved spending time with them. He especially loved his kids and grandchildren and they called him Boom-Pa.
Those he leaves including his wife, Shirley, of the home include: his children, Bryan Clark of Augusta, Brook and Kim Clark of Towanda and Kimberly and husband Randy Ellison of Andover; four granddaughters, Ashley and Kaitlyn Clark, and Rylee and Paige Ellison; and a great-granddaughter, Paytlyn Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Scott Michael; and two sisters, Barbara and Jayne.
