The City of Augusta will be installing a new playground at Garvin Park early this summer. This playground was made possible through a 50/50 grant match from the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant program.
The grant will provide $100,000 toward the new playground and adjacent parking lot and the City will pay the other $100,000.
The City's park board will be hosting a public meeting at 7 p.m. on April 11 to answer questions and take public input on several proposed park designs.
The three designs under consideration are included here. Large posterboard-size storyboards for each playground design will be displayed in the main hallway at City Hall throughout the day on Thursday, April 11 along with a ballot box. Residents are encouraged to stop in and cast a vote for their favorite design. If you have questions, comments, or can't make it to City Hall during the day to vote, please feel free to attend the brief public meeting with the park board in the City Council chambers at City Hall starting at 7 p.m. on April 11.
