Bernice H. Worrell, 86, of Leon, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 in El Dorado. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Headley Funeral Chapel and service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Leon Christian Church. Burial will follow at Blankenship Cemetery, Rosalia. Bernice was born in Bloomington, Kan., on Feb. 1, 1927, to the late Vivian (Davis) and Weedon Brewer. She had worked at Boeing, had owned the grocery store in Bloomington and retired as a sales clerk from J.C. Penney. On March 6, 1946 at El Dorado she married Robert “Bob” Worrell and he preceded her in death. Bernice is survived by: son, Kevin Worrell of Leon; daughter, Lisa Wells and husband Ronnie of Atlanta; sisters, Phyllis Jackson of El Dorado, Shirley Jones of Leon and Francie McBeth of Andover; grandchildren, Kasondra (Ryan), Trent, Payton, Dalton, Nikki, and Jeremy; and 12 great grandchildren. Memorial donations to the Leon Senior Center.
