  • Dear Editor:

We wanted people to be aware of the fact that the only way to communicate electronically with the Governor is through Facebook. We posted the following yesterday and within 15 minutes it was taken off his page:
We are so sorry that the Governor of the state of Kansas is so against those with disabilities and also those who think the arts help people. Those families with disabled children and adults need all the help they can get in order to keep going and what we continually hear from you and your administrative team and your other conservative representatives that those who are disabled aren't that important. I have heard from the mouths of some of your team that they want services and budgets slashed in helping those who can't help themselves. Our son has Downs syndrome and always will need help. There are so many others with specific life long needs. We pray to God that you and your team will wake up and be compassionate and want to help.
We then posted again after realizing they took it off and said we noticed they only keep positive postings and deleted the negative ones. Within five minutes that post was also gone. Those of you behind the disabled, the poor, and those who support the arts we encourage to defeat all those conservative Republican representatives and the Governor in the next election. We are Republican and are ashamed of their lack of conviction to support those who need our support.

    Sincerely,
