For the preseason meet at Hillier Stadium, Augusta’s track and field teams put together solid performances despite the weather conditions of late, which have forced practices to be sporadic and indoors. The Orioles hosted Andover, Andover Central and Circle.

For the girls team, the Orioles had top placers in eight different events. On the track, Bailey Reichardt led the charge with three top-4 finishes. She took second place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.27 seconds. Kaitlin Markham took fourth (13.92) and Hannah Albright took fifth (14.43).

Reichardt took fourth place in the 200-m race (29.14). Markham took fifth (29.68).

Reichardt came out the winner in the 400-m race with a time of 1:07.61. Rhi Bayer took sixth place (1:16.58) for the Orioles.

Sydney Williams finished third in the 1600-m run (6:37.00) for Augusta.

Riley Zerr took fourth place in the 100-m hurdles race with a time of 18.02. Albright took sixth (19.14). Zerr finished second in the 300-m hurdles (51.83) and Albright took sixth again (57.93).

The girls ‘A’ 4x100-m relay team won first place with a time of 54.56, narrowly defeating Andover Central (54.74).

Out in the field, senior Rebecca Winter took sixth place in the shot put with a toss of 28 feet, 6 inches.

On the boys side, Chaydon Carter took second place in the 100-m dash (11.27). Cortlan Jackson took seventh (11.77) for the Orioles.

Kyler Steinkamp took second place in the 200-m dash (23.49). Jackson took fourth (24.33) and Carter finished seventh (24.55).

In the distance races, Jacob Hall won the 3200-m run (11:53.00). Brandon Forsythe took fourth (12:07.00).

Zach Harrison finished third with a time of 5:23.70 in the 1600-m run. Hall was right behind his teammate in fourth (5:23.96). Forsythe took seventh (5:30.00).

In the 110-m hurdles races, Tyler Hammond took seventh place with a time of 18.30.

Augusta’s 4x100-m ‘A’ relay team took first place with a time of 45.92. Augusta’s ‘B’ team took third (50.15). Augusta took third in the 4x400-m race with a time of 3:56.65.

In the field, Steinkamp took first place in the high jump event with a mark of 6’2”. Logan Weakley took fifth (5’6”) and was fourth in triple jump (36’6.5”).

Brandan Smith took sixth in the long jump (18’7”) and fifth in the triple jump (36’5”).

JT Martin was fifth in shot put (35’0.5”). Nate Kroeker was sixth (34’7”) and also was fourth in discus (109’8”) and fifth in javelin (122’2”).

The season begins Friday at Valley Center.
