  • Kirk Michael Bidwell, 51, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Harry Hynes Unit in Wichita.

  • Kirk Michael Bidwell, 51, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Harry Hynes Unit in Wichita. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Visitation with the family present will be from 6 to 8 Friday evening, also at the Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the services.
    He was born Feb. 15, 1962 in McPherson, the son of Gerald Otis and Sandra Meek Bidwell. Kirk received a Degree in Auto Mechanics from Butler Community College. He was a self-employed boilermaker. On May 5, 1978 Kirk and Dawn Thomas were married at the First Baptist Church in El Dorado. He was an avid John Wayne fan, enjoyed golf and liked being with his kids.
    Those who survive including his wife Dawn of the home are: his children and their spouses, Michael and Joanie Bidwell of Conway Spring, Kirk and Lesa Bidwell of Douglass, and Desiree and Josh Marrs of El Dorado; brothers, Kevin Bidwell of El Dorado, Tony Hanson of Texas, Robert Hanson of El Dorado, Randy Hanson of Texas, and Jed Bidwell of North Carolina; sisters, Beth and Claudine; and eight grandchildren, Justice, Deanna, Josh, Kade, Konner, Maicey, Kayser and Lilly.
    He was preceded in death by his mother and father and two brothers, Kevin Hanson and Ross.
