  • With weather putting a damper on valuable practice time for the EHS golf team, the Wildcats hope to start their season next Monday at Prairie Trails.
The Wildcats boast a relatively experienced squad for the 2013 season.
“We are looking forward to being a very competitive team this year. We return all starters that went to regionals last year,” said El Dorado coach Pete Cisneros.
Junior Travis House who is a two-time state qualifier will anchor the Wildcats team.
“We also have a good group of young player who will be pushing for varsity spots,” said Cisneros.
Cisneros looks for junior Jared Haury to improve on his personal best scores as well.
“We will need good rounds from Wes Haines, Tanner Clites, Isaac Johnson and Connor Scanlon,” said Cisneros. “I know all the players have worked hard on their game in the off season to help us become better.”
The Wildcats have 12 players coming out for this season.
“The kids are a good group and will be working hard to make themselves and teammates better,” said Cisneros.
The biggest concern for this team will be how they face adversity from hole to hole this season.
“If we do struggle in the early tournaments, will we be able to overcome these problems and regain focus for league and regionals,” said Cisneros.
With a solid squad of veteran players looking to improve their scores the Wildcats could turn some heads this spring.
