  • Dear Editor:

The Butler Homeless Initiative (BHI) met for their regular meeting Thursday night March 14. They invited both mayoral candidates, John Grange and Mike Fagg, to attend the meeting, to learn more about the project and the accomplishments of the initiative. BHI board members, guests, and several local social service agency partners shared local statistics about the homeless population in El Dorado and Butler County. Both Candidates were given a copy of the preliminary management plan for the proposed transitional home. BHI found both candidates to be candid and very open to discussion. They encourage anyone to call them with questions. The BHI board would like to thank both John Grange and Mike Fagg for their attendance and willingness to share in the service of the homeless in our community. Butler Homeless Initiative and the mayoral candidates urge to community to vote on election day or by absentee ballot. For more information about BHI and the proposed transitional home you may contact us at 316-321-1454 or attend our meetings on the second Tuesday of each month. Meetings are held at the Presbyterian Church at 400 W. Central in El Dorado at 6:30 p.m.

    Sincerely,

    - The Butler Homeless Initiative board
