The award-winning Prima Trio, comprised of violin, clarinet and piano, will present their trademark virtuosity in a program of diverse and entertaining repertoire at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the El Dorado Middle School Auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The Prima Trio was formed in 2004 and debuted at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., in 2006. Guilia Gurevich from Uzbekistan (violin/viola), Boris Allakhverdyan from Azerbaijan (clarinet) and Anastasia Dedik from Russia (piano) met as students at the renowned Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio. Each is distinguished as a soloist internationally and as a trio they have met with equal success.
Among their prizes, Prima Trio won the Grand Prize and Gold Medal in the Senior Division at the prestigious Fischoff Chamber Music Competition in South Bend, Ind., in 2007, earning a domestic tour and debut at Italy’s Emilia Romagna Festival.
The trio has concertized on stages across North America and Europe and is currently on a 50-city tour of the United States through concert presenter Live On Stage.
This concert will be a bonus with new season ticket purchases for the 2013-2014 concert season.
The 76th season of ECCA will feature Anthony Kearns, Irish Tenor, at 7 p.m. Oct. 22; The Gothard Sisters, fiddling, singing and Celtic dancing, at 7 p.m. Nov. 21; DePue Brothers Band, classic bluegrass, at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 19, 2014; Jesse Lynch’s Jazz 101, a century of jazz music, at 7 p.m. March 11, 2014; and the Diamonds, a Rock ‘n’ Roll quartet from the ‘50s and ‘60s, at 7 p.m. April 4, 2014.
ECCA season ticket holders may attend concerts in Topeka, Great Bend and Chanute, and Ponca City, Okla., by reciprocal agreement.
Admission is by season ticket. Season ticket prices are: Adults, $45; Students, $10; Family/grandparent $95 (parents/grandparents and children 18 and under); and Single Family, $50 (single parent/grandparent and children 18 and under).
