  • Opal LaVerne “Rader” Lowrance, 87, of El Dorado, died Wednesday afternoon at Lakepoint Nursing Home.

  • Opal LaVerne “Rader” Lowrance, 87, of El Dorado, died Wednesday afternoon at Lakepoint Nursing Home. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Sunset Lawns Cemetery. A visitation will be held between the hours of 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. LaVerne was born in Oxford, Kansas as a small child she became a lifelong resident of Butler County and El Dorado.
    During WWII she served her country at Beechcraft Aircraft Company. In 1944 she was united in marriage to Herbert D. Lowrance, Sr. in Wichita. He preceded her in death in 2010. She loved to help people with special needs. She liked to crochet, Knit and Sew. She was a very active member of the Butler County College Booster Club.
    Surviving family include three sons, Herbert D (J.R) and Pat Lowrance of Augusta, Garry and Betty Lynn Lowance of Shawnee, Okla., and Darrel Lowrance of Wichita; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. A memorial has been established with the Butler County Booster Club. You may leave a donation at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.
