First Baptist Youth will hold their annual Youth Missions Auction and Dinner on Saturday, March 2. Come out anytime from 1-6 p.m. to get a peek at the amazing items donated and being auctioned at First Baptist Church, 1501 State St., Augusta.
A monterey dinner will be served at 5 p.m. (the monterey shells are donated by Carlos O' Kelly's). Tickets for a donation of $10 can be purchased from any youth at FBC or at the door on Saturday, and all the proceeds go to help the students and adults going on one of the two mission trips, two camps or attendance at a retreat throughout the year.
The Silent Auction begins at 1 p.m. and closes at 6 p.m. Some items available are handmade crafts including paintings, blankets, woodcrafts (pens, candle sticks, pantry), tv stand repurposed into child's kitchen, scarves, jewelry, and spicy-sweet pickles. Other silent auction items include a trail bike, home improvement items, children's items, golf clubs, gift baskets, plus many more too numerous to list.
There are over 100 Live Auction gift packages for men, women, and children, including golf and lunch packages with Crestview, Willowbend, Terradyne, Reflection n Ridge, Wellington as well as Tulsa, Okla., Rogers, Ark., and Kansas City. There will be 4 digital cameras, a 47" LED TV, a 32" TV, a Toshiba laptop, 2-3 guitars, hair salons and spas, 5 local "Couples Night Out" packages with restaurant, hotel, theatre entertainment and babysitting. There will be vacation packages to Branson, Mo., 3 to Eureka Springs, Ark., 2 to Beaver Lake, Ark., 2 KC Royals and Zoo, 3 to Tulsa, Okla., 3 to Kansas City (one a Double Couple!), Chain Ranch wild hog hunt for 2, and River Valley pheasant hunt. There is a ¼ side of beef and 2 meat variety packages from Cargill meat, Augusta and El Dorado children's parties, camping items, numerous auto care packages, John Deer replica pedal tractor, and much, much more.
In all approximately 120 students and sponsors from the Augusta community will receive help to go on a mission trip or to a camp or participate in one of the retreats throughout the year. The spring break mission trip this year is to inner city Houston to work with the homeless, the poor, and under-privileged children. The musical mission trip is a two week trip to New York City, Maine and many states in between, serving and sharing Christ as we go.
