The Coutts Museum of Art 2013 Membership Recognition Event Thursday evening will begin with a social time and viewing of the 19th Annual Butler County Student Art Exhibition.
In addition, dozens of silent auction items are on display for bidding until 7 p.m. There will be entertainment with the live music of Kaleigh and Howard Glanton. Food and refreshments will be available through the evening. Silent auction winners and several nice prize drawings will be announced at 7.
Two of El Dorado’s most acclaimed artists, Jim Clements and Mary Binford Miller, have contributed oil paintings to be live auctioned during the event, starting at 7:15p.m. Coutts Museum members will have the opportunity to bid on these two paintings. Proceeds from the auction will help support special programs at the museum.
“We encourage all of our members to come out for this event,” said Museum Director Rod Seel. “It's our way of saying thank you to them for their membership. The weather looks better, the streets and sidewalks are cleaned, and it’s a great evening to go to the Museum. Very few communities have a Museum like this to bring eco-tourism to their town. Our members are those that support the Museum and we are very thankful to them. Non-members can purchase a membership at the door.”
The event is for current members of the Museum, but memberships are available at the door for as little as $30 for a single membership. Any membership at the $55 level or higher will receive a limited edition, signed and numbered Member Gift Print depicting the Butler County Courthouse in pastel by Kansas artist Michael Duane.
