Richard L. Koehn, 83, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at Moundridge Manor in Moundridge, Kan. He was born Aug. 13, 1929 in McPherson County to David W. and Ida (Johnson) Koehn. On Sept. 30, 1951 he was married to Mary Ann Schmidt at Fairview, Okla. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2012 after 60 years of marriage. Richard was a retired farmer and stockman. He was also a member of the Eden Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, rural Burns.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Lacinda (Warren) Nightingale of Sarasota, Fla.; daughter, Jan (Abe) Schrock of Gentry, Ark.; son, Bruce (Linda) Koehn of Burns; son, Delton (Rhonda) Koehn of Montery, Tenn.; daughter, Kristine (Arvin) Nightingale of Mountain Grove, Mo.; daughter, Nancy (Andy) Unruh of Ft. Sumner, N.M.; brother, Elmer Koehn of Moundridge; sisters, Hazel Smith Richfield, Mo., Eunice Schmidt of DeRitter, La., Gladwin Koehn Gentry, Ark., and Neoma Koehn Detroit, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents; infant grandson; and one granddaughter, Anna Unruh; brothers, Curtis and Freeman Koehn; and sisters, Ruth Jantzen, Mildred Koehn, Lillian Koehn, Margaret Schmidt and Margie Koehn
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Eden Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, rural Burns. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Eden Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Burns.
