  • George H. Chastain, 80, of El Dorado, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita.

  • George H. Chastain, 80, of El Dorado, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado with visitation with the family present starting at 1 p.m. and lasting until time for the services. Interment will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. He was born on April 24, 1932 in El Dorado, the son of Irvin Allen and Juanita (Park) Chastain. He attended school in El Dorado, and worked as a machinist for Kreonite. George enjoyed playing the guitar; singing; writing music, and could play about any instrument. He enjoyed puzzles, doing carpenter work, working on cars, baseball and guns. On Oct. 18, 2003 he was married to Rebecca Cornelison in a ceremony at the Westview Baptist Church in Wichita. Those he leaves including his wife Rebecca of the home are: children and their spouses, Mark and Jill Brown of Lindsborg, Sandy and Josh Amos of Arkansas City, and Candy Dedman of Winfield; a brother and wife, Bill and Hazel Chastain of Clover, Mo.; sisters and spouses, Mary Hart of California, and Rita and Howard Daley of Dallas, Texas; brothers and their spouses, Don and Carolyn Chastain, Gordon and Shirley Chastain, Bert and Marlene Chastain, and David Chastain, all of El Dorado; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bobby; grandson, Jordan Kennedy; and step-son, Lincoln Brown.
