With only 8 wrestlers of 14 weight classes competing at the Chase Country tournament, El Dorado finished 2nd overall as a team and brought home 5 first place finishes and a second and third place as well.

At 106 lbs. freshman Mason Herman claimed first place defeating Ty Zimmerman by pin. Herman moved to 9-3 in varsity action this year.

Junior Daniel Thomas earned a tournament victory defeating Blake Cusick in an 8-6 decision in the 120 lb. division. Thomas is now 24-9 for the year.

At 132 lbs. senior Kyle Macy defeated Connor Penka in a 5-2 decision to earn a first place finish. With the win Macy moved to 30-9 this season.

Senior Caleb Wallsmith claimed third place at 160 lbs., defeating Zach Craige in a 6-1 decision. Wallsmith moved to 19-12 this season.

At 170 lbs. senior Kyle Call defeated Zac Lewman in an 8-3 decision to claim a tournament victory. Call is 5-6 this season.

Senior Marcus Walker earned a second place finish falling in a 2-1 decision to Evan Slater. Walker is 29-11 this season

Sophomore Jacobb Burnett earned a tournament victory at 285 lbs., defeating Paul Harwich by pin. Burnett is 13-8 this season.

El Dorado now heads into regionals starting this Friday at Augusta.

The Wildcats are currently ranked #5 as a team in Kansas 4A wrestling by the KWCA.
