  • TOWANDA—Stewart Dennison has had a dream since he first played football in third grade to one day play at the collegiate level.
That dream came true for him Wednesday on the high school national signing day. Dennison, a senior at Circle High School, signed a letter of intent to play football at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, which is an NCAA Div. II school in the Great American Conference.
“It feels really good. Working all the way through high school, going to something else to play for another team,” Dennison said. “Playing football in college has always been my dream.”
Dennison earned Second Team All-Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Div. IV honors this past season for the Thunderbirds. He finished with 22 receptions for 473 yards and scored six touchdowns.
“My height, I think,” Dennison said was something he felt the college coaches liked about him. “They’ll put a bunch of weight on me and sculpt me into the player they want.”
Dennison has been a model example of a hard worker for Circle during his four seasons. It helps when he enjoys playing his position.
“I get to do both. You can block and go out for a pass,” Dennison said about playing at tight end.
Dennison said he plans to go into predentistry during his time at Northwestern Oklahoma State, then go to a dental school after that.
His parents are Brennan and Gerette Dennison.
