Arthur Leroy Hale, 91 of Augusta died, Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at the Robert Dole VA Center in Wichita.
Friends may view from 1 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at the Memorial Lawn Chapel in Arkansas City.
Art was born Dec. 3, 1921 to Buddie Ernest Hale and Nettie Viola (McGlothen) Hale in Dexter, Kan. He attended Arkansas City schools. Art served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. LST 470 in the Philippines. He worked in aerospace until his retirement. Art was a member of the American Legion and VFW of Arkansas City and was an inactive member in good standing of the Eastern Star Masons and Shriners of Oklahoma.
He is survived by: his sister, Louise DiVall of Arkansas City; sons, Jack Hale of California and Darrell Hale of Kansas; daughters, Sharon Wegner and Connie Priebe, both of California; grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Art was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Georgia and Pat; sisters, Phyllis Miller and Hazel Zimmerman; brother, Wendell Hale.
A memorial has been established with Honor Flight for Veterans. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
