The #9 ranked Wildcats took fourth place in the 22-team tournament this past weekend finishing behind only Derby, Valley Center and Andover Central.
El Dorado had 131.5 team points and had a wrestler finish first, second, third, fourth, fifth and three sixth place finishes for the tournament.
At 113 lbs. freshman Reno Hughey claimed third place, defeating Cody McDonald by a 12-4 major decision and moved to 23-6 on the season.
The #2 ranked wrestler at 126 lbs. senior Bryce Morgan moved to 29-1 this season winning yet another tournament title by defeating Garrett Xanders of Derby in a 6-2 decision.
At 132 lbs., senior Kyle Macy had one of his best showings taking second place falling only to Jake Wilson of Rose Hill in a 3-1 decision. Macy is now 27-6 this year.
Senior Cole Reinhardt claimed a 5th place finish, defeating Jared Hydock of Maize South in a 6-3 decision in the 138 lbs. weight class, Reinhardt moved to 23-12 this season.
At 152 lbs. junior Gage Armstrong claimed a 4th place finish, falling in the third place match to Tony Blumi of Valley Center in a 4-2 decision. Armstrong is now 27-11 this season.
Senior Caleb Wallsmith took 6th place in the 160 lbs. weight class, falling to TJ Campbell of Pine Creek Academy in a 9-7 decision, Wallsmith is 15-11 this year.
Senior Marcus Walked took 6th place at 220 lbs. falling to Ethan Gustus of Caney Valley in a 5-1 decison. Walker is 21-11 this season.
In the heavyweight division sophomore Jacobb Burnett claimed 6th place overall, falling to Mark Saffle of Hutchinson by a pin fall.
The El Dorado grapplers will be back on the mats this Thursday when they travel to McPherson.
