  • Area teams compete at 21st annual Circle Invitational

  • In the 25-team tournament held in Towanda this past weekend the host team Circle placed 17th overall with a second and third place finisher.
    The Bluestem Lions placed 19th with a third and fourth place finisher.
    The Remington Broncos came in 21st place with a fifth and sixth place finisher.
    The Flinthills Mustangs team finished 25th.
    For Circle at 132 lbs. Zeb Edson lost in the the championship round to Lukus Maki of Andover in a 6-2 decision to finish second overall. Edson is 20-5 overall.
    Senior Jordan Moore took 3rd place at 195 lbs. winning his match with AJ Scholfield of Andover in a 5-2 decision. Moore is 15-11 this season.
    For Remington, John Brunner claimed 6th place falling to Michael Parker of Labette by pin at 120 lbs.
    Zach Thornburg claimed 5th place at 132 lbs defeating Tommy Truesdale of Riley County by major decision 19-5.
    For Bluestem, Lane Moran took third place at 145 lbs defeating Tyler Stock of Andover in a 8-6 decision victory. Moran is 24-10 this season.
    Senior Cody Easterday took 4th place at 160 lbs falling to Trey Thompson of Coffeyville by pin. Easterday is 23-7 this season.
