Dr. Kenneth B. Dellett, 82, of El Dorado, died Sunday evening, Feb. 3, 2013 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. The celebration of his life will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist church. Interment will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening between 7-8 p.m at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home.
Ken was born Aug. 15, 1930 in LaCrosse, Kan. He graduated from Ft Hays State University, the K.U. Medical school and received his designation of Opthalmologist from Nebraska University. He was united in marriage to Margaret Field. He Joined the United States Navy and served as an officer.
Memberships included the First United Methodist Church, the American Medical Association and the El Dorado Country club. He loved to play golf and pool and play in the weekly poker games.
Surviving family include: his wife, Margaret of the home; son, Randy and wife Lori Dellett of El Dorado; daughter, Tamara and husband David Crum of Milwaukee, Wisc.; grandchildren, Kevin and Alex Crum, Chris Dellett, and Brian Maddox; and sister, Gwen Mitchell of Albuquerque, N.M. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenneth “Field” Dellett, in 2009.
