  • The El Dorado Rotary Club is planning to install five new bike racks around town.
Each spray park will get one, as will Bradford Memorial Library. One will also be placed downtown.
According to El Dorado City Manager and Rotary president Herb Llewellyn, it is a joint effort between the Rotary Club and the city, as Rotary will provide the bike racks and the city will provide the pads on which they sit.
“The Rotary was looking to do a project in town and asked me and I thought we needed some bike racks,” said Llewellyn.
The bike racks won’t have the traditional bars to park bikes in between but will instead look more like a bicycle. Bikes will be able to be chained to any part of the new racks.
Llewellyn said the new bike racks are scheduled to be finished by next weekend or the following weekend.
“It’s another example of the way people volunteer in El Dorado,” he said.
