  • A 19-year-old El Dorado man is in the hospital in critical condition this morning following a shooting at early this morning.
According to Police Chief Tom Boren, El Dorado Police Department officers responded to a disturbance call in the 400 block of North Alleghany at about 3 a.m. The officers discovered a white male victim of a shooting that had occurred inside the home. The victim, a 19-year old El Dorado man was treated at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital and subsequently transported to Wesley hospital where he is reported in critical condition.
The suspect in the shooting is reported to be a black male in his 30s from the Wichita area. According to police, the suspect was armed with a pistol. The suspect was in the company of a white male and a white female who were known to the victim’s family.
They left El Dorado in a silver four-door Lexus, bearing Kansas tag 456 FAR. This Lexus was spotted by Augusta Department of Public Safety officers who attempted to stop it when it sped away; subsequently being pursued to near Douglass before officers lost the vehicle.
Boren said the public is warned to not approach the vehicle or occupants but report it to 911.
The suspect, know at this time as a black male with the nickname of “Sneak” or “Sneak A Peek” was wearing a dark colored hoody sweatshirt. Witnesses say he appeared to have a fresh sore or minor wound to the neck, and a tattoo on the left side of his neck.
The investigation continues as officers interview about a half dozen witnesses in the home. According to officers, the incident appears to have been unprovoked and no motive has been established for the shooting.
