Curtis Eldon Goldsmith, 84, Augusta, retired Jack's Men's Wear owner, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Those attending should use the 12th St. entrance.
Curtis was born Sept. 2, 1928, to Ora Clyde and Laura Desdemona (Burkdoll) Goldsmith in Lyndon, Kan. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Eleanor Lucille Owen on Sept. 23, 1956, in Plattsburg, Mo. Together they owned and operated Jack's Men's Wear in Augusta. He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed his grandchildren's sporting events.
Survivors include: his spouse, Eleanor "Ellie" Goldsmith of the home; daughters, Cindy (Gary) Nickel, and Laurie (Ernie) Debruler all of Augusta; daughter-in-law, Cay Goldsmith of Fredericksburg, Va.; brother, Raymond (Ann) Goldsmith of Lyndon, Kan.; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Goldsmith; brothers, Gerald and Rodell Goldsmith and a sister, Erma Goldsmith.
