  • Kansas Senate Ways and Means Committee Chairman Ty Masterson has named Butler County native Debbie Luper to the position of Chief of Staff. Luper, a graduate of Augusta High School and Wichita State University, will assist with scheduling, communications, committee research, and constituent relations.

“Debbie’s vast network of contacts throughout the Capitol, in the Legislature, Governor’s office, back in the District and throughout the state will be a great asset not only to our Senate District and Topeka office but also in interfacing with the many agencies, elected officials, and constituents involved in state government,” Masterson said. “Her communications expertise and extensive skill set make her uniquely qualified for this job.”

Luper is a former Augusta teacher who has most recently served as district liaison and communications director for Senator Masterson. She is a two-time recipient of the “Huck Boyd Volunteer of the Year Award,” a statewide honor given to one Kansas Republican volunteer each year. She and her husband Steve have resided in the Andover area for over 30 years.
