Cleta D. Ralston, 94, of Towanda died Jan. 17, 2013 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. The Celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Towanda United Methodist Church of Christ. A private burial will precede the service.
Cleta was born March 19, 1918 in Wichita the daughter of Cleveland and Nellie (Stewart) McWilliams. She grew up in the Benton and Towanda communities. She was married to Andrew W. “Deak” at her parent’s home. They celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary on Nov. 14, 2012.Cleta was a wonderful homemaker.
She loved to cook and do ceramics and participate in the many activities of her children. Her favorite hobby was playing in a number of bridge clubs. She was very active in the Towanda United Methodist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star. She cared deeply about her community and helped start the Towanda Museum. She made sure all events in Towanda would be lined with American Flags.
Surviving family include her husband Deak of the home; son Andy and wife Kimba Ralston of Divide, Colo.; daughter Cindy and husband Jay Ravenscraft of Whitewater; a brother Rodney (Nora Jean) McWilliams of Towanda; three grandchildren, Cari (Brad) Schinbel, Bethany and Megan Ralston; great-grandchild Jackson. She was preceded in death by one brother.
