Andrew W. “Deak” Ralston, 102, died Saturday in Whitewater. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Towanda United Methodist Church of Christ. A private burial service will precede the services.
Deak was born July 24, 1910 in Wichita the son of Andrew George and Nellie Theis Ralston. For more than 86 years he farmed. On Nov. 14, 1938 he married Cleta McWilliams in Towanda. They celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary in 2012. She preceded him in death on Jan. 17, 2013. For many years he coached Little league baseball. He loved to hunt and fish and fish and fish. He was a member of the Towanda United Methodist Church of Christ.
Surviving family include one son Andy (Kimba) Ralston, Jr. of Divide, Colo.; daughter Cindy (Jay) Ravenscraft of Whitewater; three grandchildren, Cari (Brad) Schindel, Bethaney Ralston, and Megan Ralston; great-grandson Jackson. He was preceded in death by one sister.
