Charles E. Little, 90, El Dorado, died Saturday, Jan. 19.
Charles E. Little, 90, El Dorado, died Saturday, Jan. 19. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Interment will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Charles was born on Aug. 5, 1922 at Hunter, Kan., the son of Orlin and Myrtle (Blundon) Little. He graduated from Strong City High School and then served in the Army until 1946. Chuck worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and was a signal maintainer for 33 years and then at Butler Community College Security for 23 years until retiring.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he had served as a Deacon and a Trustee. He was a member of BPO Elks #1407; the Masonic Lodge at Cottonwood Falls.
He enjoyed following Butler County Basketball; traveling; working and Saturday morning breakfast at McDonald’s. He also helped setting up weddings at the Presbyterian Church.
On Sept. 3, 1949 he and Peggy Neumayer were married in Madison, Kan. She preceded him in death in 2000.
Those who survive include his daughters Cherri Ogle, El Dorado; Cheryl Dowell and husband David, Duncan, Okla.; sisters Opal Bailey, Strong City; Wilma Martin, Cottonwood Falls; five grandchildren: Cassie Ogle, Callie Ogle and Chance Ogle all of El Dorado; Perry Dowell and wife Shari, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Paige Dowell and wife Holly, Sand Springs, Okla.; four great-grandchildren: Kaden and Konner Dowell, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Riley and Wyatt Dowell, Sand Springs, Okla.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ann and Loy Fankhauser; sister-in-law Ann Neumayer, all of El Dorado; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his wife; parents; a sister and son-in-law.
