Local fire fighters responded to a house fire at SW 98 Terrace, east of Augusta, around 7 p.m. on Wednesday night.
A mutual aid call was made to the Leon Fire Department.
Witnesses had reported an explosion around the time flames were seen coming from the structure.
“There were two individuals living there and they both escaped with no injuries. The explosion that was heard was a propane bottle. The cause is under investigation, but there is not reason to believe that it was anything other than accidental,” Fire Division Commander Major Raymond Marbut told the Gazette.
Fire crews had the blaze under control within 20 minutes.
