Shirley Fowler, 76, of El Dorado passed away Tuesday Jan. 15, 2013 at Susan B. Allen Hospital. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Shirley was born Aug. 9, 1938 in Geneva, Neb., to Ralph and Mildred (Gewacke) Hughes. She attended school in Geneva and graduated there. On Jan. 17, 1960 she was married to Gary Fowler in Geneva; Gary preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 2012. Shirley was a bookkeeper and worked for M & L CPA, she was a member of Trinity UMC. Shirley enjoyed reading, quilting, gardening, playing golf, her grandchildren and traveling with daughters.
Shirley is survived by a son, Mark (Tina Marie) Fowler of Pleasant View, Utah; daughters, Delinda (Dan) Young and Terri (Preston) Turner, both of El Dorado; brothers, Gerald Hughes of Morgan Hill, Calif., Ronald (Kathy) Hughes of Clemson, S.C., Darrell (Evelyn) Hughes of Geneva, Neb., and Kenneth (Twila) Hughes of Parker, Colo.; brother–in-law, Kenny (Lois) Fowler of El Dorado; sisters, Sharon (Roger) Cudaback of Exeter, Neb., Deloris (Fritz) Murrell of Phoenix, Ariz., and Genieve (Jim) Tanner of Valencia, Calif.; grandchildren, Mark Ryan (Amber) Orndorff, Jake Richard Orndorff, Trevor Turner, Kesh Turner and Bridger Turner; step-grandaughters, Erica Gaines and Jessica Young; great-grandchild, Gavin Turner; and step-great grandchildren, Lukas and Kasey Gaines and Skylar Stephenson. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary, son Michael, brother Robert Hughes and sister Carol.
