Scripture:   Genesis 39: 1 ¶  Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. Potiphar, an Egyptian who was one of Pharaoh’s officials, the captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there.

2  The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master.

3  When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did,

4  Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.

Observation:    Joseph had been sold by his brothers into slavery.  Surely the Lord’s presence was a comfort to Joseph.  Sometimes just knowing that God knows what is happing to us helps us through tough times.  But the Lord’s presence brought more than just a feeling in his heart; it brought visible blessings that others could see.  Potiphar could SEE that Joseph had God’s approval and blessing.

Application: I am thankful for God’s presence in my life.  He brings me peace.  I am also thankful that His blessings can be seen by others.  God wants the blessings He gives me to be a blessing to others too.

Prayer:   Lord, may others see your blessings on my life, and may they benefit from them.   Amen
