  • Doris E. Cypret, 88, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013. She was born Oct. 16, 1924 to Ray and Veryl (Nearhood) Newsom in El Dorado, where she attended schools. Doris started working at the age of 16 and worked numerous places including: Graves Drug Store, The New York Restaurant, Beech Air Craft, and McConnell AFB. She enjoyed playing baseball, dancing, and music. Doris married Jack Cypret on July 23, 1957. They lived in Bermuda and many other places along the East Coast during Jack's service in the U.S. Navy, before returning to Butler County. Doris was a member of Hope Community Church for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jean Pennington and Evelyn Young; and brothers, Harry Newsom and W.B. Newsom. Doris is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jack; daughter, Debbie (Jerry) Ciucyk; and grandchildren, Jennie Keating and Nick Ciucyk. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lakeview Funeral Home. Funeral at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hope Community Church. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
