Mary Ann Lockard, 78, of El Dorado, died Friday, Jan. 11 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Carlson Funeral Home. Visitation with the family present will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, also at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow the funeral in Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
Mary Ann was born on May 27, 1934 in Lone Wolf, Okla., the daughter of Naaman and Lourena (Land) Shropshire. She graduated from Mangum High School and Braun’s Business College. She worked at Farm and Home until her marriage to Forrest Lockard on July 20, 1958 at the First Baptist Church in El Dorado. She was a housewife and mother, actively involved with her children as a PTA member, home room mother; girl scout leader; Boy Scout supporter and was a very proud grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Augusta.
She is survived by her husband, Forrest of 54 years; a son, David Lockard and his wife Lori and their sons Bryan and Adam of El Dorado; and daughter, Melissa Lockard of Phoenix. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She is preceded in death by siblings Hazel, Bess Middleton, Lee Wisdom, Elmer Wisdom, Margaret Bryan, Burton Barnes, Wayne Shropshire and William Shropshire and granddaughter Emily.
