The BG Products Veterans Sports Complex has earned Crossland Construction recognition.
They received the AGC (Associated General Contractors) of Kansas Award of Honor for their work on the project.
Crossland submitted the project for consideration for the award.
The state-wide award recognizes companies in four categories, including new construction, renovation, pre-engineered and design-build.
The award will be presented during a dinner Jan. 18.
In addition to hearing about this award, the Butler County Educational Facility Authority also approved right of ways for the city and approved moving from monthly to quarterly meetings, with special meetings as needed and monthly e-mail updates on the sports complex.
One thing still being finished up at the stadium is drainage and that will be tested later this month.
The Authority members also wanted to look into some issues regarding electrical use at the stadium to see if there is anything they can do to lower their bill, as well as look at the possibility of having the outside sign on the stadium lit during the evening hours to help promote the stadium.
The Authority’s next meeting will be in April at which time they will appoint a new chair.
