  • Many health experts warn that eating at McDonald's can be unhealthy. But this can't be what they mean.
An Augusta woman on her way to work was the victim of an attack that left three people jailed Wednesday.
Deb Bennington was waiting in line at the McDonald's drive through near the intersection of Dugan Road and Kellogg in Wichita at about 7:30 a.m. when a woman tried to cut into the line.
Bennington said she didn't want to let the women in but she forced her vehicle in front of her. Bennington said she accidentally tapped the woman's vehicle with hers because there wasn't enough room to stop.
At that point, the driver of the other car got out of the vehicle and yelled at Bennington who admitted she yelled back at the suspect.
The other vehicle proceeded to the second window in the drive through because they had paid for an order that apparently had not been correct.
After they left the window, they backed up to block Bennington in and the woman exited the vehicle and threw a crow bar at Bennington Buick LeSabre, leaving a dent behind the driver's side rear window.
As Bennington tried to leave the area, a man jumped out of the suspect's car and shot at her with a shotgun – hitting the driver's door although none of the pellets penetrated the door.
Thanks to alert customers, the suspect's tag number was given to police and, after a standoff, two men and a woman were taken into custody for questioning.
