  • Freshman, JV girls sweep Clearwater

  • Augusta's freshman girls basketball team picked up a win Tuesday night after clobbering Clearwater 42-15. The Orioles held the Indians to just one point in the second quarter and didn't allow double-digit scoring in any quarter. Bailey Carr and Maddy Leedom tied for a team high with eight points. Clarice Dalziel added seven points. Megan Grantham, Alysa Rogers and Hailie Harmon all added four points apiece. Riley Zerr added three points. Brittany Johnson and Hayli Scholl both added two points. JV girls defeat Clearwater in big win, too The junior varsity girls finished Tuesday night with an easy 48-28 victory against Clearwater. Both teams got off to a sluggish start before the Orioles close the first quarter with an 8-5 lead. The scoring picked up in the second quarter as the Orioles led 22-15 at halftime. Bailey Reichardt scored all 10 of her points in the half. Augusta improved its defense in the second half, allowing only six points in the third quarter and seven in the fourth. Baylee Johnston scored a team-high 13 points off six field goals, one of which was a 3-pointer. Carly Sears scored all seven of her points in the second half. Kylie Wesbrooks added four points. Morgan Kirk and Brooke Eberhardt both added three points. Riley Zerr, Bailey Carr, Clarice Dalziel and Abby Tipton all added two points for the Orioles.
