A storm system will move out of the southern Rockies and into the central Plains late Wednesday bringing increasing chances for precipitation across the area. The best chance for widespread rainfall will be Wednesday night and early Thursday. With temperatures hovering near freezing across portions of central Kansas late Wednesday night, some spotty freezing rain will be possible, however little if any accumulation is expected. Isolated thunderstorms will also impact portions of south central and southeast Kansas. Rainfall amounts around 1/2 inch with locally higher amounts can be expected across much of the area before precipitation comes to an end late Thursday.
