Helen C. Evans, age 85, of El Dorado, passed away peacefully in Palm Beach County, Fla., with her family at her bedside. Helen was born in Perris, Calif., on Dec. 1, 1927 to the late Mr. Louis Jackson and the late Olga (nee Smith) Jackson. Helen was a telephone operator with the telephone company in El Dorado for many years. She was formerly a very active member at the First Christian Church, the SBA Hospital Sewing Saints, the Ladies Golf Association and as an AMerican Red Cross volunteer. She was greeted in Heaven by her late husband, Mervin Evans, who has been waiting to be reunited with her since 2005. Helen will be forever loved and remembered by her loving and devoted son, Ronald W. Evans, and his wife Jeanne, of Boynton Beach, Fla.; her two loved grandchildren, Luke Evans and his wife Sharron of Boynton Beach and Amanda Evans of Tampa, Fla.; her two adored great grandchildren, Jackson and Blake Evans of Boynton Beach; an admired brother, Louis Jackson and his wife Verla of El Dorado; a loved sister-in-law, Phyllis Jackson of El Dorado; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, 224 W. Ash, El Dorado. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Christian Church 300 W. Central.
