The snow and ice will create hazardous and difficult travel conditions
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Butler County until 6:00 am News Years Day. While our anticipated snowfall accumulations have tapered off the past couple of days, the advisory calls for 1 to 3 inches of snow for areas south of Highway 50. From the graphic below, it shows Butler County could see anywhere from 1 to 2 inches. While the snow amounts have decreased, the chance for wintry precip/freezing drizzle has increased for this evening into the overnight hours. At this time, ice accumulations are expected to be light.
The snow and ice will create hazardous and difficult travel conditions. If you have travel plans today through tomorrow, please plan accordingly; slow down and allow for plenty of extra time to reach your destination, drive responsibly, and do not drive while under the influence.
