Another weather system is forecast to move into the region on Monday bringing with it chances of snow for much of the area. A slight chance of a rain/snow mix exists for Sunday night (primarily after midnight). A rain/snow mix is then possible for Monday turning to all snow by the evening. Light snow accumulations are anticipated. These conditions could lead to hazardous travel conditions on New Years Eve. If you have any travel plans on Sunday night and/or New Years Eve night, please use extra caution to ensure safe travels.
High temperatures today are expected around 30 degrees. Saturday should top out near 40, Sunday at 42, and Monday and Tuesday both see highs in the low 30s. Tonight is forecast to be rather chilly again dipping down to around 10. Saturday and Monday night lows are anticipated around 20 while Sunday night lows could be around a balmy 30 degrees!
Since we do live in Kansas, we can't forget the winds! Today, a blustery north northwest wind of 13 to 20 mph gusting to near 30 mph is expected. Tonight northwest winds will lay to around 8 to 10 mph and west northwest winds of 6 to 8 mph are possible on Saturday. By Saturday night winds will become south southwest at 6 to 9 mph. Enjoy the light breeze while you can as Sunday winds pick up once again. Southerly winds of 10 to 15 mph will increase to 19 to 24 mph and could gust over 30 mph before settling back down on Sunday night.
