While we didn’t have a white Christmas like many had hoped for, the cold air did make a visit that made it rather chilly if you had to be outside working. Today’s temperature is expected to top out in the upper 20s. Thursday the temperature will climb to nearly 40 degrees before falling back into the upper 20s for daytime highs on Friday. Weekend temperatures are forecast in the upper 30s to around 40 degrees.
The National Weather Service, Wichita office is forecasting lows in the low teens tonight and Friday night, while Thursday night lows will climb into the mid to upper teens. The seven day outlook for our area reveals no signs of any rain or snow.
This afternoon, North winds will decrease to around 6 mph. However, forecasters are calling for them to pick back up on Thursday, out of the south southeast at 11 to 17 mph and gust as high as 26. They will decrease some overnight before north northwest winds pick up at 8 to 17 mph and gust as high as 26 on Friday.
