  • Wow, I am amazed that our City Council has become so dysfunctional that they cannot even appoint a member to serve on the Insurance Committee? They all need to step back and say “What can we do to begin to work together?” This is sad!
Congratulations to the Dist. 402 school board with the full guidance of Supt. John Black for saving us a ton of money watching the bond market.
In reading the 12-20-12 Viewpoints, I for one am proud that we no longer have council members who vote 8-0 approving every item. The mayor should be neutral on items, never expressing an opinion.
Apparently the people writing to the opinion line about the poor treatment to Madam Mayor by other council members have never been on the receiving end when she doesn’t get her way.
Well, I just think it’s great that we are informed about what is going on at the City Council meetings. Those people represent all of us and they need to know that the public does care how they do their job and if they’re behaving like mature, sane, rational adults.
